Neither is better across the board, it comes down to whether you want the higher heat and steam ritual of a traditional sauna or the lower, steadier warmth of infrared.

The stove must be installed by a certified, licensed electrician per local electrical code. Do not use the sauna above 190°F. Exit immediately if you feel dizzy, sleepy, or any discomfort. Never sleep inside the sauna.
Cedar wood may cause eye, skin, respiratory, or digestive irritation in a small percentage of users, a reaction sometimes called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Discontinue use if symptoms occur. Is this a 2 person or 3 person sauna?

Is this the same as an infrared sauna?
No. The Hanko is a traditional steam sauna, heated by an electric stove and stones rather than infrared panels, and it lets you add steam by pouring water over the stones.
How hot does it get?

Does this need a special electrical outlet?
Yes. The stove requires a dedicated 240V 30 amp circuit, plus a separate 120V 15 amp circuit for the lights and sound system. Both must be installed by a certified electrician.
