How Does the Novaa Light Pad XL Actually Work
The pad holds 400 tri-chip LEDs. Each LED pairs one red 660nm chip with two near infrared 850nm chips, for 1,200 light chips in total. Red 660nm light works at the surface of the skin, while near infrared 850nm light reaches deeper into tissue and joints.
Light output is strongest closest to the LEDs. NovaaLab lists 120 mW/cm² at contact, 45 mW/cm² at 1 inch and 25 mW/cm² at 3 inches. For the best results, place the pad directly on bare skin, since clothing blocks the light.
Set Every Session Your Way
The remote lets you choose red light only, near infrared only, or both together. You can run the light steady or pulsed, set the power anywhere from 10% to 100%, and set the timer from 1 to 30 minutes. NovaaLab recommends steady mode by default. Pulse mode runs cooler, and steady mode delivers more light output. The higher the power, the warmer the pad feels.
How Is It Different From a Heating Pad

How to Use the Novaa Light Pad XL
- Plug the pad into a wall outlet with the power cord and adaptor, and connect the remote with the connecting wire. The remote screen shows the logo and then the main menu.
- Place the pad directly on bare skin over your back or the area you want to cover, and secure it with the adjustable strap.
- Press the power button to turn on the lights. The timer counts down from 20 minutes by default.
